History

Capital Printing Equipment was founded by John Chamaillard in 1972. Bill Wise became a partner soon after and Danny Hayse was a partner from 1973 until 1975. The company operated out of Mortimer Printers on Beech Street in Ottawa, Ontario, in the midst of Little Italy. Mortimer Printers was owned by Lawson Jones.

In 1987, Richard Moquin was hired as an apprentice at Capital Printing Equipment. He completed his apprenticeship and became an inter-provincially licensed machinist, continuing to work for Capital Printing Equipment full-time until 2009 when Capital Printing Services was founded by Richard. John’s youngest son, Jonathan, became Richard’s apprentice January 2010.
